He became very good friends with a few of the fathers. So good, in fact, that they are all taking us out for a goodbye dinner.

If you EVER need any advice on the Eagle process, just shout. I remember that well. The other rank advancements were not as nerve wrenching as attaining Eagle Scout. Aside from the merit badges needed and the service project, etc. there are tons of paperwork to be filled out. Committees that need to agree and approve it. And, the service project must be spectacular. One Scout big wig gave my son such difficulty when it came to his project. While other boys were making butterfly gardens and setting butterflies free or throwing some mulch on a path in a park my son's plan was to do something for the "Hungry In New York." His plan not only consisted of collecting food but also educating the public about the ever growing hunger problem. He also campaigned via letters, emails and phone calls to major food distributors. It was getting very close to his 18th birthday and this man was making my son's life miserable. It took my intervention with the District and NY Counsel. But, all worked out well. The project needs to be beneficial to the community as well as allow the Scout to exhibit leadership qualities by recruiting other Scouts to aid in their project. So if you get frazzled, just shout out!!

Hugs, LuAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2750848569067701921.post-47291009237262930172007-06-14T04:04:00.000-07:002007-06-14T04:04:00.000-07:00Congrats! Problem was I was way too much of a tomboy. As a brownie I wore jeans under my dress, the girl scout master in my first year did not approve, thus no more lol! You sound proud of the boys and hubby, rightfully so. They have all done a wonderful job and inspire so many others. Very handsome bunch dear one , loved the pics.
