Crumblin' Down

What a weekend!!!

Saturday we had the dance recital dress rehearsal for Pumpkin.  Hubby and I went and sat through a little more than 3 hours of them doing stage adjustments and lighting issues and the girls doing their routines until Pumpkin's last one which was #32.

Then, we left as even though there were 39 numbers and the finale, you don't have to stay at dress for all of it.

Saturday night, in an effort to have a nice night out for Hubby since Father's Day was going to be at the dance recital, we went out with our friend's, Bob and Ilene!

We had a nice dinner, the kids sat in their own booth next to ours, so we grown-ups could actually speak!  Such a joy to have for two hours a week, I cannot tell you!!!  LOL

After dinner we went back to Bob and Ilene's to hang out and let the kids play.  It was really nice, just chatting and laughing together.

Sunday, we did have our gift giving time with Hubby and Grandpa, my dad, but then things turned to dance recital focus pretty fast!

Kathy arrived and got her tutorial on all things relating to Pumpkin's costume changes and hair.

The recital was very nice!  Pumpkin really danced the best she has ever done!  A combination of maturity, years of classes and teacher's who really got a lot out of the kids this year!

Her ballet number was a Celtic piece called 'Butterflies', and the the girls were all butterflies coming out of their cocoons and flitting around the stage!

Pumpkin's second number was Jazz, and it was a big class!  They danced to Little Richard singing Zip ah dee Do Dah and they were amazing how well they danced complicated steps and stayed very much in sync with each other!!!

Last, but not least, was hip hop to Chris Brown's, 'Run It'.  This was a large group too, since two classes combined.  They danced together, then separate, then together again.   It was a great number, with lots of hip hop 'poppin' and great attitude by all the girls!

I don't have pics yet, they will be forthcoming!

We all went out to dinner afterward, a tradition for post-recital, and also for Father's Day!  We went to our favorite town restaurant, and harassed one of our favorite waiters!  LOL

It was late by the time we got home, but the kids were still all hyped up!

Such a long weekend, remember Friday night we had that baseball game under the lights, and the field dedication.  Very, long weekend.  I am excitedly awaiting a weekend with NOTHING to do!!!

be well,
Dawn
