Big Girls Don't Cry

Your kind thoughts and wishes for me, mean so much.

Russ had me in tears.

You are all so kind and wonderful... made my day, which otherwise has been a quiet one.  Just trying to rest up for the week ahead.

Hubby had what I like to call a brain fart on Friday night.

My mom's friend Mary had given the kids $50 each, because she had been so ill over the last year, and she had missed seeing the kids for holidays and birthdays.  Silly really, but you have to know Mary to know, there was no stopping her from doing this.

So, Hubby's grand idea was that the kids pitch all that money in to buy something, we pay the balance as Hammer's birthday gift.

What was that something you ask?

A Wii.

Pronounced 'Wee' like, we swing the controllers around like maniacs and try to not hurt each other or break things while playing.  Ugh.

The original 'plan' was no Wii until the basement was finished.  But, thanks to water damage, and lack of funds for the proper waterproofing, that may be longer away than the original plan.

And, thanks to funds being tight, there is no vacation this year other than going to my cousin's wedding in Indianapolis.

So, that basically made Hubby feel guilty, turned him a bit soft, and there you have the result.  A Wii.

Hubby set it up last night, after we came home from the barbecue.

The kids LOVE it.

I am still developing my opinion of the game.  I will let you know.

So far, it seems okay.  The kids actually get a workout while playing.  No broken glass yet, only one accidental injury.  I am still not 100% sure yet though.  lol

Hubby seems to love it as much as the kids.

Men and boys... the toys grow with them.

be well,
Dawn

I'm not really sure what a Wii (WHEEEEE!) is but it is cool that everyone was able to pool their gift from your friend instead. Your family is cool. --Cin

Well, at least the Wii will keep them entertained...  My kids haven't mentioned anything about a Wii YET..  My daughter when she younger was so excited with a video game that she hopped right on a glass coffee table and went through the glass.  Keep all glassware away from the Wii system!!  Hope you are feeling better--take care :)  Hugs - Julie

I have two friends with Wiis.  They all love it.  My hubby loves it when we visit them too!  They have this one game where you spin a cow over your head and then fling it.  So sad.  Poor animated cow.  I hope the family enjoys it!
Love the Garfield!

Glad you're feeling better.  Caled is asking for a Wii.  I said "talk to Santa".  "Santa" has basically said probably for Christmas.  We'll see, lol.  Have fun.  De ;)

I used to pronounce the Wii as "why" and had no idea that was incorrect.  I hate being old!!!!

Thanks for sharing your answers with us - I have seen the game WII, but figure my home is way to small to have that kind of activity going on! If they could make it work outside ~ Priceless! Hope you have found some comfort and that your feeling much better! Have a great day!

right the wii that straps had to be recalled because many people reported "Flying Wii's" I dont buy games anymore i used to it just seems like a waste of money to me now i used to love them.

Wii is realy popular over here, theres been a few smashed TV screens, so they come with a strap now, so they don't fly out of your hand. Parents are buying them by the shed load here cos its the only way to get kids to excersise, they love it!

Oh, someone would definitely lose an eye around here with that kind of game!  I've heard stories!  I like the concept of staying active with the game ~ like with Dance, Dance Revolution.  The attraction to games is so strong for kids these days, and they are so expensive, but in moderation, I think they can be a good thing.  Especially if it brings the family together, which is a truly blessing in any regard.

Hope you have a week of smiles!

Never got into playing games other than simple little ones but I know they can be addictive. Enjoy though...love, Sandi
