My Decision...

I am going to wait it out for a bit and see what I can do with the proposed transfer that is being worked on.

But, I will be at blogger with all of you soon enough, apparently!

Dang AOhell

be well,
Dawn

Dawn I think we are all shell shocked from this past week. I hate what they have done. I opened a blog on blogger using the journal name "Life Is Chock Full of Surprises, evidently someone had used mine already...so when they move everything over I don't know how that will work....guess we will know in a few days. I do not want to lose touch with you and a number of other journalists that I have come to really like and admire...so one way or another we will keep in touch...love, Sandi

I think that's a good idea, Dawn; and then you won't make a rash decision to like say perhaps give up blogging and then 2 days later make a new blog (I'm so pathetic)

wherever and whenever you blog; do send a link!

I already had a very rarely used journal at blogger so I just went ahead and started using it.  I think I will probably set up a new journal just to transfer my AOHell one.  But here I am if you are looking...

I think you'll end up liking blogger better. It's fraustrating at first until you figure out all the buttons. But you can do so much more on it. Plus the best thing is it's easy to find everyone because the have follower icons. I've found people that I lost on AOL a long time ago so it's nice to hook up again. We're all like playing college dorm over there. Everyone checking out each others blogs. Let us know when you make a blog.
Take care, Chrissie

I've even managed to figure most of it out over at blogger.  I used a different name when I opened mine, and then I can migrate entries into an archives journal.  I still have to figure out how to save my entries to a word program, but so far so good.  Let me know where you'll be.

Dawn, most of us have been in shock, panic, po'd, etc.  There are many, many who have moved to blogger already.  Shelly said just don't keep the exact same name or the journal migration won't go smoothly.  Stop over and look around.  There are more familiar faces each day.  AOL is tearing down our neighborhood but can't steal the heart and soul of JLand.  Love ya, Chris

Hi Dawn,
Good for you ... I think this is the most logical course of action ... wait and see what is arranged in terms of a "migration."  I think the handwriting has been on the wall regarding Journals -- and AOL itself -- for some time.  I've been checking out Blogger and it looks pretty good but, like you, I'm not making any moves for the time being until we see what the "migration" plan looks like.
Best,
Marty

I have a new blog on blogger...but when I read the instructions to move my old entries, I didn't get too far---so much to deal with.  I'm holding off for awhile.  Blogger is okay---what I like about it, is that other people other than those that don't have AOL can write comments on it.  I have friends/family that weren't able to because they didn't have AOL-it's more internationally friendly.  Oh well...  I miss you already.  :(  Julie

I'm having fun over at Blogger.  I'm looking forward to seeing how they move our blogs!  If that goes well, I'll just be relieved.  I have way too much on my blog to move it myself and my computer can't hold that much more stuff.  It's tired.

Blogger or blogspot, I don't know which one to go to. I'm going to wait as well. See where others are going, how they like it there... I don't have time to deal with this! If they transfer me, I'll be okay with that. If they lose all my entries, so be it. If my house burns down, all I've lost is replaceable, providing me and my loved ones make it out... so as long as we all make it to some other location, and get back into our comfortable routines, a year from now we won't even notice it happened. It's a blip in our lives.  A little tiny blip, after all. See you wherever you are or will be! bea
