Our Booga

Our Booga has gone to the Other Side, and is now talking with her hubby, Pop, catching him up on all things earthly.

Her passing was quiet and peaceful and the way she wanted it.  It has definitely been all on her terms the last few days.  Yesterday, there was a scare and everyone ran to her bedside.

She told everyone to go home and get back to life!  'What, are you all going to do, stare at me, waiting for me to die? Now shoo!'

Booga was very clear that she was ready to go, and was going to do so very shortly, and that Pop was waiting for her to come.   She even joked that he was starting to get impatient.

I am doing this entry in red, the color of her favorite shoes, leather flats, that she even wore for the last week at the hospital.  Sometimes, in bed.  Why have to fuss with getting them on and off all the time she asked?

The kids are sad, especially Pumpkin, which was to be expected.  I think she is starting to come to terms with it though, as I have spent the last week preparing her for coping with her grief.

Throughout the wake and funeral, over the next few days and weekend, we will all try to focus on celebrating Booga's life, her sense of humor, and her feistiness, and especially her love for all of us.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers...

be well,
Dawn

That must be hard to go through.  No matter how much you prepared, you still need time to cope.  My prayers are with you. :)

Oh she reminds me of my own grandmother...they broke the mold when they made these ladies, such spirit.  I know how much it hurts to loose someone we love, but the flesh is weak and must go the way of all things...I know in my heart that she is holding hands right now with her love.  Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers....Sandi

My sympathy as well, Dawn. A lot of people nowadays just can't understand the bond between those already passed-on, and those still "here". It seems especially strong in our elders. It's a shame when these same people don't realize the spirit of the human bond, until it's too late to recieve it in person.....

((((((((((((Booga)))))))))))) I am glad that she is at peace and with her husband again.

(((((((((((((Dawn)))))))))))))) I'm sorry for your loss.

My take on death is very much different from most people. I want to be like your Booga and do it on my terms and not everyone else's. I think that death is part of life and the only thing that is certain and I don't think it's a bad place you go on to when you die. I think it's a continuation of life with your friends and family that have already passed on. So I never know what to say to someone when someone they know and love has died. I think it's good that you are celebrating her life, that's how I think it should be.

I'm here if you need me. I love you all!

Hugs,
Susan
