Stand and Deliver

I just sent my boys off for the 'Blue and Grey Camporee 2007'!

They are camping in tents, and it is going to be cold!  Hubby seems to have the boys packed up with plenty of warm stuff, including long underwear, if needed.  DogBoy, Bob and Ilene's son, is with them, and will be staying in the same tent!

Fuzzy and DogBoy are both on antibiotics for ear infections... such is this time of year.  I mothered them both sufficiently, nagging them to keep their hats on all the time, and their ears covered.  Hubby will keep his eye out, too.

Pumpkin is fighting off a cold and has a sore throat.  She is going to skip dance class today.  Hopefully, tomorrow will be better because we have big plans!

Girls day SHOPPING!!!  Woohoo!  Pumpkin, Grandma and I are going to shop 'til we drop and have lunch out together!  Yay!

Pumpkin needs a new winter coat and a pair of black MaryJane's for school.  I need to pick up a thing or two also, but I don't know if that is happening.

Hubby and I got a quick lunch out today together.  It was good, we had some kid and family stuff to discuss together.

Great news!  My mom invited me along on her November Atlantic City convention trip!  Yay!  I can't wait!  This time, I will even drive down with her, not go on the bus to meet her, so it will be even better.  Also, a little longer away from home, but Hubby will pick up the slack, in the am's and evening, and my dad will pick the kids up at school and handle afterschool time.

Hubby told me today that he is very happy that Mom and I can  have this special time together, and too bad we didn't start doing it sooner.  I think the kids are actually at the perfect age to do this now.

Tonight, Pumpkin and are going to watch 'Cleopatra', the Elizabeth Taylor - Richard Burton one!  We watched about an hour already... only 3 more to go!  LOL  Pumpkin loves it!  Much like I was at her age, she is very intrigued with all things Egyptian!  Who knows, maybe in a past life... lol

My cold is still here, but taking the Dayquil every 4-5 hours seems to be keeping it at bay.  Nighttime is harder, because I get stuffy and drippy and cough, but I will survive.  ;-)

Right now I am snacking on a carmelized onion cheese spread and pretzels from our townie market.  They have the yummiest goodies that they make in-store.  The onions are just perfect, sweetened to perfection!

Libby is taking a nap; getting ready for Alpha patrol this evening since Hubby will be gone.  She is so sweet and funny about him being gone.  At least this month, my parents are home, so we aren't quite as alone!  LOL

(RA and Lupus are behaving... I am just a bit sore... Shhhhh)

be well,
Dawn

Hi Dawn,
Here's some trivia for you:  "Cleopatra" with Elizabeth Taylor nearly bankrupted 20th Century Fox at the time it was made (it went way over budget, took too long to make, etc. etc.).  By the time it was finished, "Liz" didn't even show up to the premiere.  During that time, mostly due to the losses from Cleopatra, Fox had to sell off a lot of its real estate (goodbye bit studio lot).  Shortly after Cleopatra, however, Fox released one of the biggest successes in its history and it saved them ... that was Sound of Music.
Best,
Marty

Yikes, I would not want to be sleeping in a tent with as cold as it has been!!!!  I hope Pumpkin is up for the big shopping excursion.  A girls day shopping sounds like a lot of fun, I love when me & my mom go shopping.  Ooooh,  Atlantic City, that sounds positively great too!!!!
