That's the Way, I Like It

Funny, that cat could be my cat... but it isn't!

Today was a good day!

Hubby did actually have to go into the city for about 3 hours to look at a couple of job sites.  He did make it back to go to the doctor's with me, though, so I was happy.

My internist gave me my flu shot, which was great, and since I haven't been for a physical in a long time (although I have with my rheumy), we talked about stuff, and I caught her up to date on the brain tumor, RA and Lupus.

Tomorrow am, after I drop the kids off at school, I have to go for a blood draw, which she is going to do everything under the sun, and then the week after going to Atlantic City, I will have my physical.

I have to fast for the bloodwork, which means no coffee until afterward!  ACK!  How will I do it??? LOL

Remember, my internist died unexpectedly in April?  This is her partner, in business and in life.  It was great to talk to her today.  She totally gets what a double edged sword living with these diseases can be, while trying to have enough energy to take care of your family, and cope with the pain.  She gets that trying to exercise is such a catch-22...

Exercise = pain and no exercise = left over weight from inactivity due to pain, disease, and prednisone.

I left feeling better about trying to the very best I can with the crappy hand I was dealt.  You can't turn a deuce, a five, a nine, a seven and jack into full house, no matter how badly you might want to do so.  :-/

Today, we had a spare for the afternoon and dinner!  Russ!  He is such a sweetie!  The poor baby was also sick last week, like Fuzzy, but he too, made it to the Scout camping trip.  He  will be back on Wednesday, also, as the kids in NJ are all off on Thursday and Friday for the NJ teacher's convention.

My poor dad!  Today, his body woke at 3am, thinking it was 4am, his usual wake-up time.  He glanced at the clock and misread it, and off into the shower he went!  After he got out, he realized he was an hour early!  He relaxed in a chair for a while, but didn't want to fall back asleep and then be late!!!!   I felt so bad for him!!!  I don't think that will happen again!

Well, tomorrow will be here soon, and the morning soon after, so I should head to bed!

Thanks for all your get well wishes, we all appreciate it!

be well,
Dawn

That really is a catch-22...damn.  What about swimming (indoor pool of course).  That'd be less stressful on the joints I'd think.  You've probably already addressed that before.  I'm no big advocate of exercise anyway.  ;)

Good deal on getting to talk to your doc in a human way.  I have some of the same issues.  Exercise causes so much pain it isn't worth it.  So I remain the tub that I am...grrr.  oh I suppose I could eat less and differently...I could.  LOL

I got a flu shot yesterday too.  Along with a hep B and a tetnus!  yuck.  I guess that is what happens when you start a new job and have to have a physical!  Linda

You are doing so great and you hardly ever complain.  I don't know how you do it.  I complain a LOT in my journal.  Hugs,
