Friday Five

I found this over at Cin's journal Bad Altitude but her journal is private, so you need to ask her to let you read it first!

So, this is the 'official' link Friday 5 to the meme!

1. What is the name of the strip mall nearest your residence, and is it the strip mall you frequent most?

It is called Essex Plaza, because of the street it is on.

2. At your preferred strip mall, what is the name of one store you’ve never entered?

I've never been in the check cashing place because I have a bank for that!

3. Which store at your preferred strip mall would you most like to work in?

None of them, honestly, but forcing me to choose, I guess the bagel shop to get free bagels and sandwiches.  lol

4. Which store(s) at your preferred strip mall would you like to see disappear?

The check cashing store as I have heard that there have been robberies there.

5. How often do you go to your preferred strip mall?

Not that often really.  It is one of our favorite bagel shops, but there other's we go to more.  There is a Supercuts that we occasionally go to.  There is a Subway, too.  Otherwise, we don't go to the Chinese take out, the Boston Market, the cell phone place or the check cashing store.

That was fun... now you do it!

Slow start for me today.  Apparently, I am fighting off a bit of a cold.  Ick.  Never a dull moment around here!

The boys will all be off by 6pm for their scouting weekend.  NJ is having some of the coldest temps ever, thankfully, they will be in nice warm cabins.  On Saturday they are going to visit a commercial fishery.  I believe it is the same one that Hubby and I were both on class trips to as kids!  Small world!

Pumpkin is having her best buddy tonight for a sleepover.  She wanted to take advantage of no brothers in the house.  Makes sense, I guess, and it is easier on me.  I think.  We will see.

Last night, Pumpkin started her usual melt down over her dad not being home for the weekend.  She cried and cried and told him she loved him and would miss him.  Usually, she saves this for me on the nights that he is gone, but she can't do it while her friend is here, so she decided to start early.  UGH.

Saturday night will be a nightmare for me I am sure.  She will be overtired from her sleepover and missing daddy.  Oh boy.

This is the same child that doesn't bat an eye at her sleeping out anywhere, mind you.  And, she admits it.  She says, 'It is okay if I go, but I don't like if any one else goes away.'  Yup, that's my girl!  As Hubby likes to tease, a big one way high maintenance gal!  lol

I will probably be back later tonight with another entry...

be well,
Dawn

Nice questionairre, Dawn but I just don't qualify lol.  No strip malls anywhere near me.  And I don't drive so I don't shop, hate it anyway.  Hate stores.  Never got the shopping gene from Mom.  Hope your weekend with Pumpkin isn't too bad.  Stay warm.  xoxo

ROTFLMHO!  I had one of those too lol!  She always was OK with leaving us -- but either of us leaving her was catastrophic lol.  But -- she did grow out of it.  So enjoy this quirkiness while you can.  All too soon, she will be urging you to take out of town trips and leave her home alone.  (Don't do it lol.)
loving you

I like how those bouncing smiley heads have shadows. Cool. Hope you manage not to get cold. Start drinking the OJ and tea and stay warm. I'll trade our book/video store I told you about for your check cashing place.

I hope Pumpkin doesn't tear up too badly, but then again Mom gets to be the superhero by comforting her. I know all about high maintenance girls, I have, had one of my own. She's now 18 and no she never did outgrow that. Kinda strange in away, I'm outdoorsy, down to Earth. But then again don't children tend to want to grow up Not to be their parents LOL. Try to remember to take some time for yourself as well while the guys are away, you deserve it. (Hugs) Indigo

I have a high maintenance daughter, she's now 30 and even the fact that she lives in another country now hasn't changed things. She phones at every tiny event and sends me on shopping trips to get things she can't get in Germany, which then means I have to parcel it up and have a half hour trip to the nearest Post Office.......No...they don't get any better. Lol

LOL...never ever a dull moment in your house.  We also have one of those cash checking places in our closest strip mall and a Rent a Center.  I have never been in either and somehow they never seem to go away even though my favorite Hallmark store just closed...grrr.  HUGS Chris
