The Long Run

It was 100 degrees here today.  This kitty is an effort to bring a cooler atmosphere to my life.

Sometimes you read a journal entry that makes you say 'Hmmm, I needed to hear that today."  I had one of those moments today when I read my dear friend, Raven .  Check it out.

Anyhow, Hubby has been able to avoid the ER, yet he is still in pain and having an episode.  We went yesterday from our regular docs, over to a specialist.  There is great concern because at 42 years of age, 3 episodes of diverticulitis in 15 months is bad.   Tomorrow, Hubby will have a CT scan again, with barium and an IV contrast as well.  Blood was taken also.  They are looking for a possible underlying cause.  These new films will be compared to the old.  Recommendations will be made.  <sigh>

The heat is just awful here!  We aren't used to this in early June!  In August, at least we have worked our way up to it!  Yikes!  Today the kids only had a half day of school because of the heat.

Looks like tomorrow the heat breaks back into the mid 80's, a welcome relief, but still above average for around here at this time of year!

Signing off for now...

be well,
Dawn

I always love Raven's writing and enjoy reading her journal (even though she often scolds me for not commenting), and well...  I love reading the Carp per Diem as well.

It's not too hot here (77-degrees), but things are still pretty soaked.

The sun's shining, and the beer is cold, though.  Yay!

Rock on!

That was so worth it to know Dan is actually reading (winks) I'm sorry I can't help laughing...I don't scold...badly anyway...

I'm delighted my words were able to bring you some insight today hon. Sorry to hear about hubby. I will continue to keep him in my prayers on the smoke.

Feel that...ahh...finally a breeze, we just had a storm go through here and I'm enjoying it while I can. It's been hotter than Hades here in NY too. I think we skipped Spring and most of Summer to find ourselves with August weather. Here's to better days, cooler temps and health. (Hugs)Indigo

Hi Dawn,
Wow ... I don't ever recall school getting out early on account of "heat."  Snow, yes.  Heat, no.  It must be a scorcher.  Hang in there and I hope your husband is doing OK.
Best,
Marty

Poor hubby!  I sure hope and pray that they find the cause and it is not something horrible!
Yeah, it's super hot here too.  Not 100 but we went from 70s to 90s with nothing in between and it has been in the 90s for weeks now!  Grrrrrr.

Oh { { {Dawn} } },  Just a little hug with some air space cuz of the heat.  I won't tell you how cool it was here, but remember that I'm just across the lake from Dan.  Ahhh!
Sure hope hubby gets things taken care of and back to feeling better, I'll add a little prayer tonight.
K, I'm off the read Indigo's entry.

Hope hubby feels better, my SIL suffers from that too and I know how painful it is. It would be so nice just to outlaw pain wish I could do it for everybody...love, Sandi

and to think in the Pacific Northwest they are having below average temps and people are putting on their heat; you guys are just getting hammered there! so glad they had shorter days for the kids; nothing for sure is getting learned in temps that hot!

do hope the blood tests and other tests being run on your husband yields good news; poor guy; I'm sure its got to be very uncomfortable

Yeah you are so right about this freakin' heat....we haven't had a chance to "get used to it".  I am so happy it is going to be "only" 86 today LOL.  I hope hubbies news is favorable.

Indigo's entry was very meaningful.  Then again, does she ever write one that's not?  I don't think so!  I hope your husband will be okay.  What kind of treatments are there for diverticulitits?  I can't imagine how painful that must be.  Keeping him in my prayers.
