Private Idaho

More, Interview Meme, better late than never... these questions are from the gal over at Deployment Journal, who does not use her name, so I can't give it!

Anyhoo... great questions!

1. What made you start your journal?
I started my journal because I love to write, and I wanted to share my experiences as a mom dealing with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis.  I hoped that by sharing my ups and downs coping with the chronic fatigue and pain, it would help others.  I also homeschool my son with Asperger's Syndrome.  Another experience that as I share it, may help a reader out there!

2. If your journal had no readers, would you still write?
Yes, I would, because, I need and love to write.  Things get clearer and easier to cope with as you put them in words, either in ink or on a computer screen.

3. If you could give one gift (the same gift, and it doesn't have to be material) to every person you met, what gift would you choose?
The gift of finding hope, that 'thing with feathers', no matter how bad your life's situation may be. (quoted part with thanks to Emily Dickinson)

4. What was your biggest fear when you were growing up?
My biggest fear was that something bad would happen to my parents.  I still fear that.  I cannot imagine my life without them.

5. What is one thing you hope to accomplish in your lifetime, that will be quite a challenge?
I was going to say just raising the kids, because it can be so hard with all the 'chronic crap' I have to deal with but, it is my pleasure and joy to do that, and my whole reason for living.  So, instead I will say writing a book and getting published.  I am only in the writing phase, which is hard enough!  LOL

That was fun...

So, the kids have DogBoy here to play.  Pumpkin has dance class soon.  Not much planned for this weekend, which is nice!

be well,
Dawn

I need to "write my book" too someday.  This summer I saw one of the relatives there who knew it was a dream of mine.  She asked:  "Have you written that book yet?" It suddenly hit me, gee, that was once a priority in my life..damn..  What am I doing with those goals I set out once upon a time?!  I hope you have a relaxing weekend ahead!  Julie :)

I have always been envious of people who choose writing a book as a project.  I love to write, but do NOT have the dedication it would take to write anything close to a book.  When the heck do you find time?!!

I'm liking those answers.  I would write even if no one read a single word.  In fact, when I started my journal I had no idea that there was a community involved.  I just knew I needed to be writing.

This was another super interview!!!  Writing, whether on paper or online is just so vital, to me, too.  Write a book?  Not me, so I'll just read yours when it's published. :)
You have a great "unplanned" weekend.

"thing with wings"...very nice.

I used to say I'd keep writing if I had no readers, but I'm not so sure now.  I need other people...cool people...people like you who make me feel loved!

Hi Dawn,
Love your blog ... especially all the references to coffee!!  My favorite is the alien wearing a Starbucks apron.  I guess it's only a matter of time before Starbucks colonizes other galaxies ...
Best,
Marty
