I need someone who knows how to reverse bad luck!
So, anyone out there reading this, please send prayers, hexes, candle lighting, whatever - my way! My family and I need it!
Before I fill you in with my latest personal mishap, let me give you the laundry list of family misfortune.
Clothes dryer broke. Dryer fixed, washer machine breaks after first load. Buy new washer, turns out dryer not fixed, still broken. Dog gets tail infection and ear infection. Dog now throwing up due to the antibiotics for the last three days. Eldest son gets virus throws up all day Monday. Middle son gets charley horse/pulled calf muscle, misses football game. Daughter falls twice at school and once at home between Monday and Wednesday, knees a mess.
Meanwhile, I had my Remicade and have been trying to recuperate from that and get back into the swing of things.
Last night, was Fuzzy's Back to School Night and although, I was still feeling a little shaky and off, I went to the evening. Hubby dropped me at the front door and the plan was we would meet in the gym.
My friend and two of my favorite teachers are outside. Yay, time for a quick reunion and chit chat.
We are chatting and catching up and then - BAM.
The next thing you know this man was walking by and somehow caught my foot with his and my ankles being messed up, turned over, I lost my balance and I ended up on the ground. I fell onto my butt and hard and slightly toward my left side. I didn't know it was coming and never even got my hands out to break my fall.
The idiot barely checked to see if I was alright, but thankfully, the 2 teachers and my friend got me up. I was embarrassed of course, and then went inside to find hubby, once I assured everyone I was okay.
I was not okay.
My back began hurting immediately. Somehow, I made it through the evening but my headache also got worse. I am very sore today, I feel like I was in a car accident! UGH!
I am so frustrated that something this stupid can throw my whole body into a tizzy, but here I am.
Trying to rest...trying to smile anyway!
I know these are all silly things, but they add up, and it just seems like for the last several days if not for bad luck there would be no luck here at all!
Be well,
Dawn

((((((((((Dawn and family)))))))))))) I don't have a cure for bad luck. My mother used to say, 'if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.' I believe that about me most days. LOL
I hope all of you are feeling better soon! I'll light some candles for you. " )
Hugs,
Susan
Dawn I am so sorry all this has happened to you recently. The stress of all these situations can become unbearable. I will pray for you, if you will pray for me. I feel like I have a black cloud over my head. I need some good luck too. Here's hoping the best for both of us.

Dear Dawn
Okay from the top:
1.people are supposed to guarantee their labor. So go back to the dryer guy and get him to really fix it. Your husband shoudl say"Do you guarantee your worK?"
2. Why did your daughter fall? Did she see a docotr and is she ok?
3. That man was supposed to apologize to you! Shame on him for not checking on you!
4. There is a very mean flu bug going on..so I'm sorryabout your son.
5. Is your back and hip area doing ok now? other wise yuo need adoctor though perhaps a massage therapist or accupunturist dcould help.
6, You need to call the vet and get adifferent med for the dog.
7. I hope that you get to feeling better after your Remicade.
8, I will lighta candle for you; howver I suggest you do the same twice as strong!
love,nat
This would make for a good situational comedy episode, the only thing is it is true and it is causing a good friend to not be feeling well and to be suffering lots of different calamities. The old saying "when it rains it pours" is certainly happening in your household, Dawn. They say things come in threes, but it sounds like things are coming in sixes to nines at your place.
Take each thing as you can. Get through the sickness with the dog, the children and yourself feeling better.
Delegate - can hubby deal with the washer/dryer fiasco?
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
betty
Oh Sweetie,
I am so sorry. You are sure having a run of it. The stress of it all sure doesn't help with an illness like ours. I am praying for you dear. Hugs, LuAnne
Dawn... ok....ok... I have decided that you need me to light more than ONE candle. *walks off to light more then returns* Funny how when are going hsitty they stick in our mind and replay over and over... yet when there's sunshine and rainbows they don't seem to register in the ol memory banks. Did you know my research has unearthed some scientific evidence suggesting the brain does that on purpose... it's a defense mechanism. NOT that you aren't having one hellova tough run. As a matter of fact I better light some more candles, hold on *walks off to light some more and returns*... I mean the flu, injuries, pets and humans vomiting, clumsy oafs walking in and outa your life, malfunctioning machines. Definitely thinking, praying and sending you good vibes... hold on... I GOTTA GO! NOW!!!.... Lit too many candles and gotta call the fire dept!!! YIKES!!
Hang tight, fortune will turn.
Michael

My mama always says 'there's no such thing as bad luck, just misinterpreted good luck'. Which means, no matter how bad things are, they could have been worse. That was how she kept a strong attitude through hard times. I preach that to my kids now. They just think I'm goofy, like I did with my mom... until I knew better.
I hope things work out. And I most certainly am glad things are not any worse, because, Dang girl!.... I'm saving the wish on the next shooting star I see for you. (added insurance... I'll say a prayer too while I'm at it!)
Praying you feel better soon!
