(Un)Comfortably Numb

It's Caturday!!!  Yay!

The barbecue at my cousin's house was wonderful!  I miss Leslie so much, and seeing her hubby and the babies was wonderful!  There was tons of food, the kids went swimming, it was very nice!

The only draw back was the 90 degree heat, but I spent enough time inside that it didn't mess me up too much!  I also drank a lot of water.  The babies were so adorable and are getting so big, so fast.  Well, that is what kids do!

I wish I could say that things are great, but, not so much.  I haven't said much on here, but the headaches are more than just headaches - it is facial neuralgia, and on my right side.

I am not sure, but it may be from the brain tumor.  It is in the right location to cause it.  It may just be inflammation from the Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

I doubled the feldene which is an anti-inflammatory, and it has helped.  Also, the vicodin at night kind of helps when it gets the worst.  Add that to swollen and painful hands, elbows and feet, and you have a not fun situation.

BUT, Tuesday I will see my rheumatologist and we will see what we can do.

Until then... I am doing my best to manage my pain and my life with a smile!!!

Here is a meme for you all...

1. What are five TV shows that you love to watch?

In the summer my list is Big Brother 8, So You Think You Can Dance, Mythbusters, Last Comic Standing and Dirty Jobs.
2. What are the last five books you have read?
Harry Potter #7, The Professor and The Madman, Last Words, The Golden Ratio, and Hannibal Rising.
3. Name five friends from your childhood.
Kathy, Fred, Bob, Ilene, and Lisa.
4. What are your favorite five bath & beauty products?
Dove Sensitive Skin Soap, Aveeno Hand treatment lotion, Eucerin Extra Sensitive facial moisturizer, Bath and Body Works Coconut Body Spray, and my Tweezerman tweezers.

5. Name five things about you or that you have done in your life that might surprise other people.

I ran 35 mm reel to reel projectors at a movie theater
I assisted in an emergency office surgery, where an allograft (pig skin) was being used on an open hand wound.
I was Red Cross certified to lifeguard.
I did some volunteer work with severe developmentally and physically disabled children, through Kathy.
I never changed a diaper before my eldest son was born, then I didn't stop for the next 7 years!  LOL

I hope you all had a good day and stayed cool wherever you are!

be well,
Dawn

Dawn,  I'm so sorry to hear that you're feeling so badly.  I hope you can find some relief after your doctor's visit.  I'm glad that you had such a wonderful time at the BBQ.  That cat is adorable.  We had one, Peanut, that would attack the paper, or a magazine while you were trying to read.   Hope the rest of your weekend goes well.

Many of your journal entries are a combination of the joy you have with family and friends  -- mixed with physical pain.  It breaks my heart.  I wish you at least a whole week where you can just have joy without health complications.  How about a whole year??!!  I wish that for you very much!

Stay cool today!  :)  I think I got a little too much sun yesterday too.  It was in the 90's here yesterday, then we went to my brother's for his barbecue, and it was in the low 60's...  I was freezing there..  :)  Take care- Julie

Love the answers to your meme... great job on all that volunteer work.  It is so important that we all give back to our community when we can.  It sounds like you had a nice time at the BBQ and being with your cousin and her family.  Swimming and BBQ's are great summer fun!!!  Hugs,

Dawn your an inspiration. You live with pain every day of your life but It doesn't slow you down or keep you from being one hell of a mother to your kids. Your 10 times the mother I had. I wish I had , had someone like you when I got off that bus to run to. My life would of definitely been blessed with love and affection. (Hugs) Indigo
