Happy Birthday, Pumpkin (or how can my 'baby' be 10?)

Today, my baby girl turns 10 years old!!!

Of course, I am thrilled for her but...

I can't help but be sad!

Having my 'baby' hit the double digits is really a milestone.  No more babies... no more toddlers, no more little kids...

My children are all well on their way to becoming young men and a young woman.  The teen years have arrived for one, and are looming ever closer for the next two!

<<< sigh >>>

My dear Pumpkin is so excited today!  Grandma and Grandpa gave her new dresses yesterday for her birthday so she could chose one to wear today.

Pumpkin looked quite lovely as she headed out to school in her new dress!  Too cold for tights, so she wore pretty black leggings instead.

Pumpkin also had in hand her big container of Grandpa's home baked cookies to hand out to her class at snack time!  ;-D

Tonight, we are going to dinner at a local restaurant.  Pumpkin is on their mailing list and received a coupon for a free birthday dessert!  Very exciting!

Afterwards, she will attend the Boy Scout meeting with her dad and brothers as the special guest of the Scoutmaster, Mr. T.

All in all, a good birthday for turning 10!

Friday night is when the 'real' fun happens.  Pumpkin and three friends will be picked up at school and whisked off to bowling!  After snacks and two games, we will join the rest of the family at dinner in town.

Then, the Grand Finale.... the three little girls and Pumpkin will have a sleepover!  Yippeee!!!  Of course, first their will be games to play, movies to watch and snacks to eat!

Maybe Pumpkin will even play the piano for all to sing 'Happy Birthday' to her!

Let the festivities begin!

By the way... can anyone guess what Pumpkin's favorite color might be???

be well,
Dawn

ps...  My IV infusion (for my rheumatoid arthritis) in NYC went well yesterday, no problems!  All set until next month!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUMPKIN!!!!  :)  Don't be sad mom..  She is still at that good age where she will continue to believe you.  The second guessing won't start until another 3 years.  Enjoy this precious time!  :)  Julie
