Kids o Fun

Well, the snow has arrived in states west of New Jersey, and it is supposed to actually fall here as well.

That is all I am going to say, because last time it never came!

Fuzzy had to do a rough draft on report for science class on the disease PKU.  Fuzzy decided it was perfectly fine to hand in a typed rough draft without actually having the words, PKU or the full name, on the draft at all.

I sent him back to the computer.

He returned with PKU at the top, and the full name misspelled.

I sent him back to the computer.

He decided to rant and rave about how horrible I am and that no one would care that it was misspelled.  I told him that HE should care (as well as his teacher) if the actual SUBJECT for the report is misspelled.  He then got so fresh with his answering back that he got grounded from using the computer today or video games.

Even funnier, is that he THINKS that when he tells his father about how horrible I was, that his father will agree and overturn the punishment.

Now, Fuzzy has tried this before and it has NEVER happened.  Kids.

Pumpkin is upstairs sulking in her bedroom because we are having steak tonight.  She loves steak, but for some reason unbeknownst to parent/grandparent kind, she has decided to throw a hissy about it tonight.

UGH.

Hammer is in his  usual wonderful, pleasant, kind, helpful mood.  This child, my eldest, my ONLY teenager gets in a bad mood about 4 times a year.  AND, he is the one with Asperger's Syndrome/Autism.  GO FIGURE.

Hubby will be home late.  Not until almost 7pm.  And, he will wonder why I am cranky!  lol

The joys of motherhood....

be well,
Dawn

(((((Dawn))))))  bless your heart dear, what a treasure Hammer is!  I am chuckling at the PKU spelling incident and the Pumpkin steak puzzle since it brings back so many memories of those moments when kids don't make a lot of sense to moms and we don't make sense to them either lol.  But I know it can be hard to stand firm on the important issues when you don't feel well.  You rock, Dawn!!! keep up the great work!
loving you

I have the same problem with my 12 year old..  He says, "The teacher doesn't care if it's spelled wrong!"  I am sooo sure!!  I wish my son took a little more pride in his work!  :SIGH:  I totally understand what you just wrote.  Julie :)

What a day, what a day. Don't yah love how our kiddos like to cause stand offs between mommies and daddies. Cool, that you and your man dont fall for it. My kids used to do that but being a single mother sure saved more days of that, lol. I didnt know your son has Aspergers. I think that actor Keanu Reeves has aspergers. He just is different but in a good way. Love the loner in him.

Anyway, one of my best friends son has Austism too. He has a severe case, long story but wow babysitting for her was a nightmare. I remember my DUH moment coming late in the day. Where I was getting up every few minutes to save the flour, salt or whatever he would grab as fast as Superman. Finally, after hours of him against me, I do DUH. I move the living room chair and block the kitchen entrance and I sat like the dead, exhausted person I was. He hovered over me often but at least I could sit, lol. I have tremendous respect for her and her sacrifices. ~Raven

Well I hope the hubby backed you up on the punishment.  I sometimes think I was born gay because higher powers knew I'd NOT be able to handle human kids.

Have to laugh....never ever a dull moment with kids in the house.  Bless your Hammer for being so sweet.  You and hubby sound like my parents.  My dad would never overturn anything my mother dished out during the day.  I do believe I was very trying as a child because of my need to have the last word.  Now, I'll send all of my snow your way...hehe  Hope you get at least a little bit this time.  HUGS  Chris
