Fuzzy Turns 12

March is a very busy month around here!

Happy Birthday Fuzzy!  May this year and always be filled with fun, joy, and happiness!!

Fuzzy was a scheduled c-section and the only one of my pregnancies that basically went along without complications!!  Only one visit to the hospital for early labor from being dehydrated and lifting a 35 lb 2 1/2 year old!  LOL

Fuzzy was an easy baby.  Very hungry and happy to sleep; his only demand his pacifier.  He began to speak very clearly, very early, and by 12 months was already speaking in sentences!

Around 15 months, he declared that his pacifier was to be called a 'Wahwah'.  And, so it was.  I had 3 or 4 of them strategically placed in the bedroom, diaper bag and kitchen.  Lord forbid if we couldn't find one when needed, and only one brand and style would do!

At 2 years old, we limited the pacifier to naps and bedtime only.  Finally, the Christmas before his 5th birthday, we told him that he had to give up the pacifier.  On Christmas Eve he was to leave it out for Santa to collect it for the new babies.

About two years later or so, he informed me that he knew that I lied about the 'wahwah', and that Santa wouldn't give out used pacifiers to new babies.  LOL

Fuzzy will readily admit that he wishes he still had a pacifier at bedtime.  Go figure.

Around age 2 1/2 Fuzzy became addicted to Batman.  I made him a black cape out of a black fleece throw that I could wash over and over.  When Fuzzy first began to wear the cape, the v-cut ends dragged on the floor, and when the cape retired, the v-cuts were at his waist.  I have packed it away for his kids.

Fuzzy always loved dress up.  He would also dress up as a doctor, policeman, football player, train engineer and others.  Our toy box was filled with all the devices one needed to perform surgery and examinations, arrest and handcuff you, footballs and pads, and a train whistle for 'All aboard' announcements.

Hammer and Fuzzy have always been wonderfully close, great playmates with each other, and have rarely fought.  I would say that arguements now are more common than back when they were younger, and even now, it is rare, especially compared with most siblings I see.

Fuzzy has been plagued by multiple allergies, seasonal and food, since very young, and asthma since he was 6 months old.

However, he still played two or three sports a year and participated to the fullest.  Fuzzy has been determined to not let it stop him!

Now, Fuzzy probably loves baseball the most, and is a avid NY Yankees fan.  Football comes next and it is Jets all the way... just like his Grandpa.

Fuzzy is an honor student in school and wants to go to Annapolis or go ROTC Navy for college.  He is interested in piloting, naval navigation and computer engineering.  Fuzzy loves history, particularly military history.

Right now he is playing his new History Channel Civil War XBox 360  game and is in the battle of Gettysburg, from Grandpa and Grandma.  His favorite time in American history, for now.

Other birthday loot included 2K7 Baseball for XBox 360, also from Grandma and Grandpa.  From Mom, Dad, Hammer and Pumpkin he received an AT-ST, and a Starship Battles set for his Star Wars Miniatures Game.  Also, 'Digging for the Truth' book by Josh Bernstein, one of his favorite History Channel shows.

Tonight, we will go to Applebee's for a dinner celebration, just the immediate seven of us.

Friday night is the big bowling, pizza party and sleep-over with his brother and three friends.  I know.... I am a glutton for punishment!  LOL

be well,
Dawn

Happy Birthday to Fuzzy!!

My daughter Kelly has a girlfriend who was just accepted to the Naval Academy in Annapolis.  She wants to fly fighter jets.  She graduates in June and leaves shortly after graduation.  My girls don't want her to go!!!  Too much time away and she is not allowed email or a cell phone...only snail mail!  But, this is Emily's dream...has been for years...she worked VERY hard to get in .....and she can't wait to get there!

((hugs))
