The Tide is High

Nothing is going as smoothly this week as I had hoped.

Pumpkin's ears hurt.  Fuzzy has a doc appointment tomorrow to get his pneumonia vaccine, and camp papers signed, so I am bringing Pumpkin with us to get checked.

Fuzzy also seems to be suffering from his allergies, although not as painfully.

Then, the surgeons office sent us the paperwork they wanted filled out.  The bad part is that it said, no CD's accepted instead of CT scan films.  My CT scan images were so many that it took TWO CD's to hold them all.  The technician at the film lab estimated that it would cost about $800 to print them all out.  That wasn't even including the MRI films.

Hubby embarked on a quest to get the doc's office to either accept the CD's or get the films directly, even though I haven't had the consultation yet, and they haven't accepted me as a patient.

It seemed too easy from the start.  This highly recommended neurosurgeon, is NOT in our insurance, but agreed to do the consultation and accept our co-pay, and his office said if he wants to do the surgery, they have ways to work with the insurance and would help us figure that out.

Then, this stuff.  The appointment is supposed to be Monday, and I am not sure at this point what is going to happen.  I may have to push back the appointment until the films are received.

I don't know.

I do know that I am grateful for Hubby taking the lead in fighting this out for me.

I think I will find out tomorrow.  It is... what it is.

be well,
Dawn

I hope your hubby cuts the red tape so you don't have reschedule appointments!!  Allergies are terrible.  I'm hoping everyone is feeling better very soon!  Julie :)

NO NO NO...that just SUCKS. Paper work should never hold up a healthcare appointment. That is so wrong. I hope you get it straightened out so you can keep your appointment. --Hugs, Cin

grrr.....I was waiting for results to be mailed to me for an appointment for Friday, thankfully they have arrived!    I think all Dr's should take all insurances....and all insurances should pay everything!

I don't know why there has to be so much red tape. I think they go out of their
way to make things difficult...hang in there..tell hubby to be tough...Sandi

it's hard enough to deal with being sick and all the uncertainty that involves without having to wonder how you will be taken care of. I'm so sorry

There has to be another way other than paying $800 for the ct films.  The surgeon's office must deal with this issue all the time and surely there is a way to make it happen.  I am praying it will be resolved and that the timing will be perfect for you.
loving you

Be careful with using doctors outside your network. When Barry was in the hospital, we got TONS of bills and this was an emergancy case, we STILL got billed just last week, almost a year later we got a bill for 16,000 $ !!!!
It's a mess. Of course we are not paying , the insurance co. assured us that it was all covered but the doctors bills still keep coming.
Just get all the facts and what not - when dealing with doctors it's always a mess!
hugs,
Ellen
Ps- I hope that didnt scare you ! just wanted you to know our story.

Ugh, Dawn, nothing is ever simple anymore.  Glad your hubby is going to bat for you because I think you have to be more than stern.  You don't need the aggravation right now.  Hang in there.  Prayers are being sent your way.  Hugs to you, Chris

I hope that your kids start to feel better.
Hang in there...we're all here for you!

You would think that doctors would have people who work for them that are understanding. You don't go to a doctor unless you need to, so obviously your their for a reason so they already know you have that stress.......Sometimes I think they go out of their way to stress out even more. Give Hubby a hug for me and tell him I said Thanks for going to bat for you. (Hugs) Indigo
