In the Bad to Worse Category...

I moved Taz to this entry... as it was more fitting!!!!

You know the water I thought was only in the 'unfinished' basement section?

Not in the newly laid flooring, or framed section of the one day to be 'finished's section?

Wrong.

Poor Hubby.  I don't really know what this will mean yet... but it is possible that the new floor will have to torn up and relaid.  Ugh.

There was a moisture barrier installed, but 3 inches of rain in about 5 hours, was not to be held by pink styrofoam with plywood on top.  Water oozed up in the seams.

More as this develops...

be well,
Dawn

Yikes! Hope something is salvageable. It will suck big time if you have to replace all that material you just recently installed down there. Ah, the joy of owning a home! I just got done whining about the leak in our pool. Hugs to you and your family.

Crap!  When stuff like this happens to me I fondly recall what apartment living was like.  :(

I have no hopes of having any real work done in my own basement, not unless I literally rebuild the damn thing. Everytime it rains heavily I get a mini flood of up to an inch down there. Everything is up on wood planks, makes storage a nightmare. I wish you all the luck and more with yours. And yes, the rain and melting ice right now is a mini lake zone in and around my house. My Dear , I am sorry. I totally understand. We have had drainaige problems with our basement for years.
Finally this Spring we have the money to get it sealed up and some sort of channell to divert the water away from the house.....
Ive spent years drying out the basement every spring or fall...
It really sucks...

Oh Snap!   Here's hoping you don't have to rip everything up.  I know how it is having a "do-it-yourself-never-get-done-ever-in-this-lifetime" kind of a hubby!  Good luck, hon!
